Semester's finally over

Thu Jun 14, 2007, 11:17 PM
Well...the first semester of second year graphic design is over, as of about 40 minutes ago. I'm relieved, because it's been quite a rollercoaster at times, but at the same time I'm slightly sad because it means I'm fully halfway through my degree already, and I feel as though I'm only just starting to get into it properly.

The good news is that my marks are steadily increasing, and this degree and being at uni in general is really opening my eyes and my mind to alternate ways of thinking, ways I can remove creative blocks I didn't even realise I had, and aside from it all I'm just learning a lot. I can't wait to get into the industry as a professional designer, it's been my dream for several years, although I'm still kinda reluctant to believe it's going to be a reality.

It's amazing, I look back on my attitudes and my level of awareness of the world around me, from a few years ago, to the beginning of this year, to now - in the last few short months, I feel as though I've been on one long de-Maistrean journey around my hometown. I'm seeing things I always took for granted in a new light, and new stuff that I would have taken for granted takes on a whole different meaning now. Over the next 6 weeks until the start of next semester I'm hoping to get a whole heap more stuff online here, so I can use this page as a sort of timeline of my progress through the course, and in my own life. It's a journey anyone's welcome to join me on.

Hehe...Thanks for the welcome.

Sorry I've taken a while to get myself into gear about this page, it's been a while since I had anything up on the Internet!

I have to admit it still makes me slightly nervous, but I'll do it anyway!
